Just less than a week after the events in Santa Ana, iBUYPOWER Cup and RGN Pro Series Championship, we are about to see tonight another tournament within the North American borders.
San Jose will host a $125,000 CS:GO tournament inside the SAP Center indoor arena as part of ESL's premier league tour. Eights teams will be battling in a single elimination best-of-three format.
The following eight teams will be playing this weekend:
Virtus.pro (byali, NEO, pasha, MICHU & TaZ)
Team SoloMid (cajunb, device, dupreeh, karrigan & Xyp9x)
Natus Vincere (Edward, flamie, GuardiaN, seized & Zeus)
Gamers 2 (aizy, fox, jkaem, Maikelele & rain)
Cloud 9 (fREAKAZOiD, n0thing, sgares, shroud & Skadoodle)
Luminosity Gaming (boltz, coldzera, FalleN, fer & steel)
Team Liquid (adreN, EliGE, FugLy, Hiko & nitr0)
Counter Logic Gaming (FNS, hazed, jdm64, reltuC & tarik)
Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team EnVy were invited to compete in this event, but both withdrew and have been replaced by Gamers 2 and Counter Logic Gaming. Team Liquid on the other hand secured a spot via the iBUYPOWER Cup 2015 challenge.
Furthermore Virtus.pro's
Janusz 'Snax' Pogorzelski was unable to take part in this event and will be replaced by
Michał 'MICHU' Müller of Lounge Gaming.
Cloud 9 are on a winning streak as
Jordan 'n0thing' Gilbert's team have won both tournaments mentioned above in Santa Ana, but their fellow Americans Team Liquid have also shown us an impressive progress during these couple of weeks.
